Buoy 10 - Opening Day with Terry Mulkey
I've been fishing above the Astoria Bridge for the last several days and enjoying decent success. Today, August 1st, with the official opening of the Buoy 10 season, is the first day we could fish west of the bridge. While the bite was slow this morning, it "lit up" pretty good 2 hrs on each side of the high tide exchange in front of Hammond. While there was no "red hot" bite, we caught limits of 14 to 20 pound Chinook. I caught this one while trolling a plug cut herring in combination with a Big Al's Fish Flash in the BMK finish. I'm starting to think Bill Monroe Jr. is onto something. Given the run size, I'm looking forward to another excellent season.
