Spring Chinook – Tillamook & Nestucca

Chinook fishing along the coast has been pretty good. In Tillamook Bay and on the Nestucca, many of our Pro Staff have been chasing Springers and finding great success. Trolling in the bay has been one of the most productive techniques. Spinners and hard-spinning baits like Cutplugs or Superbaits have also been working well behind 360 flashers.
Top baits and techniques: cutplug herring behind triangle flashers, 360 flashers with spinners, Cutplugs, or Superbaits

 Ocean Salmon – Zone 1

Zone 1 just opened up and the fish are there! Pro, Brandon Glass, got out for opening day and got the boat limited once they found the fish. This fishery should continue to improve week by week, so keep an eye out for updates.
Top technique: trolling bait and flashers

 Bottom Fish – Tillamook

Bottom fishing has been stellar out of Tillamook. Pro, Ted Teufel, has been quietly getting limits of Lingcod and Halibut almost daily. His go-to setups have been keeping clients hooked up.
Top baits and techniques: large swimbaits, vertical jigs, curly tail grubs, shrimp flies

Catch & Release Sturgeon – Astoria

Catch and release Sturgeon fishing in Astoria has been super good! Pro, James Skaar, has been bouncing between Tillamook Springers and Astoria Sturgeon—and in Astoria, he’s been killing it. This world-class fishery continues to impress.
Top baits: squid, herring, anchovies, sand shrimp

 Shad – Columbia River

Shad fishing has stayed steady in the Columbia. Most of the run is now up near Bonneville, and anchor fishing by the dam has been producing big time. Bank anglers are doing well too.
Top baits and lures: Dick-Nites, small bright jig heads, Baby Simons, flicker spinners

 Walleye – Columbia Gorge

Walleye fishing in the Columbia Gorge is another fishery that deserves world-class recognition. Pro, Steve Leonard, has been keeping clients entertained trolling tried-and-true rigs.
Top techniques: bottom walkers with worm harnesses, small Spin-N-Glos

 Trout – Statewide

Trout fishing remains a fantastic option across Oregon, whether you’re heading into the mountains or staying near the Metro area. Many small waters have recently been stocked, and larger reservoirs like Detroit have received generous plants—including over 4,000 Trophy Trout! Trolling continues to produce, and bank fishing is also solid, especially during cooler parts of the day.
Top techniques: PowerBait, nightcrawlers, salmon eggs off the bottom, trolling spoons or bait rigs
