About Terry Mulkey. A lifelong outdoorsman, Terry grew up as the son of a rancher in Eastern Oregon, though he would eventually find himself drawn westward towards the Oregon Coast. He would wind up settling down in Tillamook, Oregon where he’d spend the next 30 years studying the tides, temperatures, and water patterns of the Tillamook Bay, Wilson, Nestucca, Trask, Columbia, and Willamette Rivers as a Salmon & Steelhead Fishing Guide. After dedicating years to deepening his knowledge and honing specialized fishing techniques specific to these world-famous fisheries, Terry has respectably become the area’s premier Salmon & Steelhead fishing guide. Through his dedication and stewardship to the sport, he continues to share his craft at speaking events and seminars around the North West, and has been known to appear in various magazines and publications such as NW Steelheaders and Northwest Sportsman Magazine.

Terry is also part of multiple Pro Guide teams and is sponsored by some of the best fishing brands in the world, including GLoomis, Shimano, and Yakima Bait. In addition to fishing, Terry also contributes to the community by stewarding responsible fishing practices and leading efforts alongside other local guides to help build up broodstock runs on the Wilson, Trask, and Nestucca Rivers so that future generations can enjoy the fisheries in these great rivers for years to come. Terry has also developed product lines such as Mulkey’s Pro Tackle—a lure series that has become some of the most highly acclaimed fishing tackle in the industry—and also plays an active part in GLoomis’ Beta program, where he tests and helps develop new salmon and steelhead fishing rods. And at the depths of all his dedication and enjoyment for spreading his knowledge of the sport to others, there lies a pure and simple love for just catching fish.
